Participants read or observe the work in silence, then:
1. Describe the work. Suspend judgment. (5 minutes)
2. Ask questions about the work, the child, and the assignment.
(5 minutes)
3. Speculate about what the student is working on. (10 minutes)
4.* Listen to the presenting teacher, who reveals the context
of the work.
(10 minutes)
5. Discuss implications for teaching and learning. (10 minutes)
6. Reflect on the conference. (5 minutes)
* Teacher/principal presenter is silent in Steps 1-3. Context
